Little Siyanshi, just 7 months old and the firstborn to her parents, faced serious health challenges shortly after birth. She exhibited a bluish discoloration and low oxygen saturation, which led to her admission to Amrita Hospital, Faridabad. Siyanshi spent 7 days in the NICU and was diagnosed with congenital heart disease (CHD).
Due to financial constraints, her family sought further care at Satya Sai Hospital, Palwal, but the doctors advised them to consult the Child Heart Foundation (CHF) or AIIMS for the necessary surgery, as Siyanshi’s condition was complex. They visited CHF for the first time on March 2, 2024.
Following an echocardiogram, Siyanshi was diagnosed with Transposition of the Great Arteries and was recommended for an arterial switch operation. She was registered under the CHF Hridaan Program to receive financial support. In addition, the family consulted AIIMS and received a date for a catheterization procedure.
The catheterization was performed in March 2024, but the family was informed that due to a long waiting list, they would face a wait of nearly two years for surgery. Undeterred, they returned to CHF on June 4, 2024, with the catheterization reports. Dr. Kohli reassessed Siyanshi’s condition and advised that the arterial switch operation be prioritized.
Siyanshi was admitted to Apollo Hospital on July 11, 2024, and underwent the arterial switch operation successfully on July 12, 2024. She was discharged on July 20, 2024, and began her recovery.
Siyanshi improved steadily and is now on regular follow-up visits as per the doctor’s advice. Her family is overjoyed to see their little angel thriving and is deeply grateful to Dr. Kohli, CHF, and the generous donors who made this life-saving treatment possible. They celebrate Siyanshi’s health with immense happiness and relief.
