Five months old, Mohd. Hasan was born to Mohd. Salman Akhtar and Aisha in Mawana, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. The couple is extremely happy about the birth of the child, but it doesn't take long when they face the gruesome challenge. Pulmonary atresia—a very severe congenital heart condition—had been diagnosed in the life of the five-month-old Mohd. Hasan, and a PDA stent had to be inserted urgently to keep him alive.
The family had no means of earnings since Salman worked as a laborer. Thus, the Rs. 2.5 lakh needed for the surgery was not financially feasible for them. Desperate and, more importantly, fearing his future, they were sent from Lok Nayak Hospital and a medical camp in Daryaganj to Child Heart Foundation (CHF).
Thanks to CHF and their CSR partner IRFC (Indian Railway Finance Corporation), the family of Mohd. Hasan received the necessary help at the right time. Hasan was admitted on July 19, 2024 at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital and operated for PDA stenting surgery on July 22, which was successfully done after which he was later carefully discharged after a week on July 26, 2024.
Presently, today, Mohd. Hasan is doing well and his parents are filled with gratitude. Due to the timely intervention of CHF and IRFC, Hasan now sees life and its healthy future. His family waits for the day when he grows up healthy and strong, their heart filled with hope once again
