Bhavesh Kumar

A Heart Full of Hope

Two-year-old Bhavesh Kumar was born to parents Anil Kumar and Meena. The short life that has been his so far is, in truth, more burdensome than many can carry through their lifetime. Bhavesh Kumar lives with his family in Sanjay Colony, Bhatti Mines, South Delhi. His journey started with a serious heart condition diagnosed at Ventricular Septal Defect and Pulmonary Atresia. It required an emergency total repair. The whopping cost of this surgery was Rs. 3.75 lakhs, which of course, was way more than what Bhavesh Kumar's family could afford.

Anil is a laborer and has five members in his family which includes aged dependents. They had no educational background and were at the end of the road when they could not prepare any money for Bhavesh's lifesaving treatment. They had approached the Child Heart Foundation (CHF) after getting a referral from the care of Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi.

Bhavesh received the much-needed financial assistance from CHF's Hridaan Program, for which he is very grateful and thankful to the very kind support by his CSR partner, IRFC Indian Railway Finance Corporation. He was admitted to Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, Jasola, on June 26, 2024.

Bhavesh had been treated for some time and an urgent need arose for a total repair surgery to be performed on June 28, after which he spent a few days of recovery and was joyfully discharged on July 3, 2024. Today, he is a beacon of hope to his family that is filled with gratitude for CHF and IRFC. Bhavesh, thanks to their timely intervention, now has an opportunity to live a healthier life, as it brings immense joy to all his loved ones, and they look forward to a better life together.
