A Hopeful Heartbeat for a Little Fighter
Sidhiksha is a cherished blessing for her parents, who waited many years for the joy of a child. After numerous treatments and countless visits to temples, Sidhiksha’s mother finally gave birth to her sweet daughter at the age of 41. The family was overjoyed, welcoming Sidhiksha with open arms and hearts full of love.
However, their happiness faced an unexpected challenge when, at just three months old, Sidhiksha fell ill with pneumonia. She was admitted to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital, where doctors suspected congenital heart disease (CHD).
Concerned for their daughter’s health, the family was referred to the Child Heart Foundation (CHF) for a confirmatory diagnosis. An echocardiogram revealed that Sidhiksha did indeed have CHD, and the doctors advised urgent intervention.
Facing the overwhelming costs of treatment, Sidhiksha’s parents sought financial assistance and registered under the Hridaan program offered by CHF. The urgency of the situation was clear, and the procedure was scheduled within a week. However, despite the pressing need, the family did not respond to calls and messages from CHF for over a month. Eventually, the case was closed due to their lack of follow-up.
