Help Atika Get a New Life: A Mother's Plea

In a small village in Nuh, Mewat, lives a brave 8-year-old girl named Atika. She is the light of her mother’s life, especially after the devastating loss of her father. Since then, it has been just the two of them—fighting, surviving, and loving each other through the hardest of times. Atika’s mother has done everything in her power to provide for her, ensuring that her daughter has the happiness and care she deserves, despite the overwhelming challenges of being a single mother.

Atika’s life took an unexpected turn three months ago when she began to feel unwell. She had been suffering from fever and discomfort and was diagnosed with typhoid in November 2023. Though the typhoid treatment was completed, something didn’t feel right. Atika continued to experience unexplained symptoms, prompting a follow-up visit to the doctor. An X-ray and general check-up followed, and the doctor suggested an echo due to concerns about a CHD.

On December 26, 2024, Atika underwent an echo in Alwar. The heartbreaking diagnosis of a congenital heart defect (CHD) left her mother devastated, but she never lost hope. Determined to get her daughter the care she needed, Atika’s mother sought further medical help, and they were referred to the Child Heart Foundation on February 13, 2025 By RBSK team , Haryana. After another echo, it was confirmed: Atika has an atrial septal defect Secundum , a condition that requires urgent treatment.

The doctors have recommended a life-saving procedure—a closure of the ASD with a device—costing 3 lakh rupees. But for Atika's mother, who has no steady income and is supported only by her aging father, this is an impossible sum. Her heart breaks knowing she cannot afford the surgery that could give her daughter a future.

This is where we can make a difference.

Atika is a precious child, full of life and promise, but without this treatment, her health will continue to deteriorate. Her mother is doing everything she can to provide a future for her daughter, but she needs our help to make it possible.

Atika has been registered under the CHF Hridaan Program for financial support, but additional funds are urgently needed.
