Shifa’s journey is a testament to the life_changing impact

Shifa was just two months old when she started displaying symptoms of congenital heart disease (CHD): discoloration of lips and nails, palpitations, and early fatigability. Shifa’s parents Dilshad and Sabnam rushed her to the Metro Hospital in Meerut, where an echocardiography test was conducted and Shifa was diagnosed with CHD. At that point, Shifa’s doctor recommended that surgery be delayed until after Shifa turned twelve. Following years of passing through a revolving door of doctors and follow-up visits, Shifa’s parents came across the Meerut Awareness Camp organized by the Child Heart Foundation (CHF). From there, CHF assisted with Shifa’s ongoing treatment. Now twelve, Shifa has finally received the treatment she needs. In late January, Shifa underwent Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) repair surgery. Since then, her health and quality of life has improved dramatically.

Shifa’s journey is a testament to the life-changing impact of timely medical care, proving that with the right support, even the toughest battles can lead to brighter futures.
