Sidra’s Journey: A Story of Hope and Healing

Born in a modest home in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, 1 year old Sidra’s life took an unexpected turn when her family noticed something alarming—her tiny body turning bluish, struggling with low oxygen levels. Panic set in as her father, Wajid, a hardworking rickshaw puller, and her mother rushed to find help. With a family of four relying on his daily earnings, Wajid had no means to afford expensive medical treatment.

Hope arrived in the form of Dr. Taukeer, who is working at a government hospital, recognized the severity of Sidra’s condition and urgently referred her to Dr. Kohli at the Child Heart Foundation (CHF). After thorough examination, she was diagnosed with TOF and need to undergo TOF repair. On February 24, 2024, Sidra underwent life-saving surgery. A team of skilled doctors worked tirelessly to ensure that her heart could beat stronger and healthier.

Today, Sidra is a year old, happy, and thriving. Her parents, who once feared losing their daughter, now watch her grow with gratitude in their hearts. Without the kindness and support of the Child Heart Foundation, their story might have been different.

Sidra’s journey is a powerful reminder that no obstacle is too great when kindness and support come together. Her story is one of resilience, love, and the generosity of those who step forward to help. Today, as she smiles and thrives, she symbolizes the hope that every child deserves a chance at a healthy, happy life.
