Born through a normal delivery at Ballabhgarh Hospital, baby Suhani appeared healthy and showed no symptoms at birth. However, during a routine checkup, a heart defect was suspected. After her discharge, her family consulted the local Anganwadi centre, which guided them to BK Hospital, Faridabad. There, an echo confirmed Suhani had CHD, and she was referred to Satya Sai Hospital in Palwal.
Another echo was done, and although the diagnosis was confirmed, she was prescribed medication for six months, with the hope that she would gradually improve. A year passed, but during a home visit, the Anganwadi worker suggested a follow-up at BK Hospital, where a new complication in her heart wall was found.
The case was then referred to Child Heart Foundation. At Balak Ram Hospital, Dr. Kohli re-evaluated her, and the diagnosis was confirmed once more. Suhani’s parents, from a labour-class background, couldn’t afford the treatment. CHF stepped in with support.
On 30th June 2025, with help from ABB India and CHF, Suhani successfully underwent balloon pulmonary valvuloplasty. The procedure was a success, and today, Suhani is on her way to a healthier life.
