Akshara, an 18-year-old girl from Khammam district, Telangana, comes from a financially struggling family. Her mother, Mrs. Dhanalaxmi, works as a daily wage labourer, striving hard to support the household and meet their basic needs.
At the age of 13, Akshara was diagnosed with a serious heart condition and was advised Mitral Valve (M.V) Repair surgery. The diagnosis came as a huge shock to the family. With extremely limited financial resources, arranging funds for such a major cardiac procedure was nearly impossible. As a result, her treatment was delayed, and her condition became increasingly critical over time.
During this difficult phase, hope arrived.
With the efforts of Dr. K. Ganapathy and the support of the Child Heart Foundation, Akshara’s case was taken up for treatment. With generous financial assistance from ABC and the dedicated care of the medical team, she finally underwent her life-saving surgery.
On 21st January 2026, Akshara successfully underwent Mitral Valve Repair surgery. The procedure was successful, and with proper follow-up care, she made a steady and strong recovery.
Today, Akshara is healthy, active, and back to pursuing her education with renewed confidence and hope. She is now able to live a normal life—free from the constant health struggles she once faced.
Her mother expresses heartfelt gratitude to ABC Group and the Child Heart Foundation for their unwavering support. She shares that without their help, saving her daughter’s life would not have been possible.
Akshara’s story is a reminder that when compassion meets action, it can transform lives and restore dreams.
