Alina, a 1-year-2-month-old baby girl, was diagnosed at an early age with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF)—a serious congenital heart defect. Since infancy, her parents noticed worrying signs such as breathlessness, bluish discoloration of her lips, and excessive sweating during feeding.
Deeply concerned, they sought medical help. After detailed evaluation, the diagnosis was confirmed, leaving the family emotionally distressed. Doctors advised that Alina would require open-heart surgery for corrective repair. However, with limited financial resources, arranging funds for such a major procedure seemed nearly impossible.
Just when hope seemed distant, it found its way.
The family met Dr. Sudhir Sharma, who guided them to the Child Heart Foundation (CHF). After evaluation, CHF stepped in to support Alina’s treatment and advised immediate surgical intervention.
On 21st January 2026, Alina successfully underwent TOF corrective open-heart surgery at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital. The procedure was smooth, and she responded well to post-operative care.
Gradually, her condition improved—her oxygen levels stabilized, the bluish discoloration disappeared, and her feeding and activity levels became normal for her age.
Today, Alina is stable, active, and recovering well, bringing smiles and relief to her family.
Her parents express heartfelt gratitude to ABC and the Child Heart Foundation for their financial support and for giving their daughter a healthy new beginning.
Alina’s story reminds us that with timely care and compassion, even the smallest hearts can overcome the biggest challenges.
