Baby of Khushboo

A Heart Full of Hope

From Fear to Hope: A New Beginning for Khushboo’s Little Angel

Khushboo and her family were filled with joy as they prepared to welcome their first child—a beautiful baby girl—on 12th November 2024 in Delhi. But what should have been a time of celebration soon turned into a period of fear and uncertainty.

During the eighth month of pregnancy, a Level II ultrasound raised concerns of a possible heart defect. Hoping it was a misdiagnosis, the family held on to faith. However, within just 48 hours of birth, their worst fears were confirmed. A postnatal echocardiogram revealed that their newborn was suffering from a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD).

The journey that followed was filled with struggle.

The baby was initially managed at Kalawati Saran Hospital for two months, but her condition required urgent surgical intervention. She was referred to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and placed on a three-month waiting list—time the family simply did not have.

With each passing day, her condition worsened. She struggled to feed, failed to gain weight, and suffered from repeated respiratory infections—clear signs of a serious Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD). Despite multiple hospital visits, there was no timely solution in sight. Hope was fading.

A Ray of Hope

In their darkest hour, an ASHA worker connected to Child Heart Foundation became their guiding light. Through the Foundation’s awareness program, the family found their way to us.

Recognizing the urgency and the family’s financial hardship, the baby was immediately enrolled under the Jeevansh Program, which supports children with critical heart conditions.

With the generous support of Mankind Pharma and under the expert guidance of Dr. Vikas Kohli and the CHF medical team, the baby was admitted to Apollo Hospital on 20th June 2025.

A Life-Saving Intervention

On 21st June 2025, she successfully underwent Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) Closure surgery performed by a specialized pediatric cardiac surgery team.

Her recovery brought immense relief.

After six days of careful monitoring and post-operative care, she was discharged on 27th June 2025 in stable condition.

A Future Reclaimed

Today, Khushboo’s little girl is thriving. She is gaining weight, growing stronger, and her smile reflects a new beginning—a life once at risk, now full of possibilities.

Her journey is a powerful reminder that timely intervention, the right support, and compassionate care can save lives.
