Baby Shreeja’s Journey: A Story of Courage, Care, and Second Chances
Baby Shreeja Singh, born in a small village in Bihar, came into the world facing serious health challenges. During pregnancy, doctors had suspected a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD), but the family did not fully understand the severity at that time.
When Shreeja was around two months old, her parents noticed alarming signs—bluish discoloration of her lips and nails, along with difficulty in feeding. Deeply concerned, they rushed her to a local clinic, where doctors confirmed that she was suffering from a serious heart condition.
Determined to save their child, the family traveled to Delhi in December 2024 in search of better treatment. There, they were introduced to the Child Heart Foundation (CHF) and met renowned pediatric cardiologist Dr. Vikas Kohli.
After detailed evaluation, it was confirmed that Shreeja had a complex but operable heart defect that required multiple staged procedures.
First Procedure
On 30th December 2024, Shreeja underwent her first life-saving procedure. Despite the emotional and physical challenges, she responded well, and her condition began to stabilize.
Second Procedure
As part of her treatment journey, Shreeja underwent a PDA Stenting procedure on 13th March 2025. This crucial intervention was fully supported by Mankind Pharma through the Child Heart Foundation, ensuring timely care without financial burden.
Final Surgery
The third and final stage—BD Glenn Shunt surgery—was successfully performed on 19th August 2025 at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital. This critical surgery was also made possible through the continued support of Mankind Pharma in partnership with CHF.
A New Beginning
Today, Baby Shreeja is recovering well after completing all three stages of her treatment. Her journey reflects the incredible strength and resilience of a little fighter who overcame multiple medical challenges with courage.
