A Second Chance for Baby of Neha
Baby of Neha, a one-month-old infant from Delhi, began his life with an unexpected challenge. During the antenatal stage, his parents were informed about a possible heart condition, leaving the family anxious about their child’s future.
At birth, he appeared stable, giving them a sense of relief. However, within a short time, he developed breathing difficulties, raising serious concerns. Alarmed, the family rushed him to Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital, where he was admitted and given immediate medical care. An echocardiography confirmed a critical condition—Critical Aortic Stenosis, which required urgent intervention.
A Ray of Hope
Understanding the severity of the situation, the doctors referred the baby to the Child Heart Foundation (CHF). There, he was evaluated by Dr. Vikas Kohli, who carefully assessed his condition and planned the course of treatment.
For Neha’s family, this was an overwhelming time. With only one earning member and limited financial resources, the cost of life-saving treatment seemed impossible. But hope arrived when CHF stepped in and enrolled the child under the Hridaan Program, ensuring that financial constraints would not delay critical care.
The Life-Saving Intervention
On 16th August 2025, the baby successfully underwent a Balloon Aortic Valvuloplasty at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital. This crucial procedure helped relieve the obstruction in his heart and improve blood flow.
After several days of careful monitoring and recovery, he was discharged on 21st August. Doctors observed encouraging progress—his heart function had improved, and his breathing had stabilized.
A New Beginning
Today, the little one is on the path to recovery, with a stronger heart and a renewed chance at life.
