Baby of Mamta

A Race Against Time: A Newborn’s Fight for Life

Every parent hopes for a smooth beginning for their newborn. But for Mamta and Shri Pal, the first few days of their baby boy’s life became a race against time.

Born on 9th October 2025 in West Delhi, their son was soon diagnosed with a serious Congenital Heart Defect (CHD). Even though the family had some awareness of the challenges ahead, nothing could truly prepare them for the reality.

The Challenge

Just days after birth, the baby began showing alarming symptoms—shortness of breath and excessive sweating during feeding. Concerned, the family sought medical help. After detailed evaluation, doctors diagnosed him with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), a complex heart condition requiring urgent intervention.

Recognizing the severity, doctors at Mata Gujri Hospital referred the family to the Child Heart Foundation (CHF). Under the expert care of Dr. Vikas Kohli, a treatment plan was immediately put into action.

For the family, arranging funds was a major hurdle. Shri Pal, the sole earning member working as a food delivery provider, struggled to afford the cost of life-saving treatment. But with the support of CHF, hope found its way.

The Life-Saving Procedure

On 19th October 2025, when the baby was just 10 days old, he underwent a critical RVOT (Right Ventricular Outflow Tract) Stenting procedure at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital.

This intervention helped improve blood flow to the lungs and stabilize his oxygen levels.

The procedure was successful.

By 21st October 2025, the baby showed remarkable improvement and was stable enough to be discharged.

A New Beginning

Today, the little one is recovering well—his journey standing as a powerful reminder of courage, timely intervention, and the impact of compassionate support.

This life-saving treatment was made possible with the generous support of Mankind Pharma and the Child Heart Foundation.

With hearts full of gratitude, the parents thank CHF and Mankind Pharma for standing by them during their most difficult time—and for giving their child a chance to live.
