Born on 6th March 2025, Baby Manshi’s journey began with concern. During pregnancy, a Level II ultrasound had indicated a possible Congenital Heart Defect (CHD), and the family was advised to follow up with an echocardiogram after birth.
However, due to limited awareness and challenging circumstances, the follow-up could not be done in time.
A Growing Concern
By the age of two months, Manshi began suffering from frequent fever and pneumonia. Deeply worried, her parents took her to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, where she was admitted for 10 days. During her stay, doctors suspected an underlying heart condition and referred the family to the Child Heart Foundation (CHF) for further evaluation.
An echocardiogram confirmed the diagnosis—a large Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA), which required surgical closure.
For the family, arranging funds for the procedure seemed impossible due to their limited financial resources.
A Ray of Hope
At this critical moment, support came through the Child Heart Foundation and Mankind Pharma, ensuring that Manshi received timely and life-saving care.
The Life-Saving Surgery
On 4th November 2025, Manshi underwent a successful PDA Closure surgery at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital.
The procedure went smoothly, bringing relief and renewed hope to her family.
A New Beginning
Today, Baby Manshi is healthy, recovering well, and attending regular follow-ups. Her progress is a joyful reminder of how timely intervention can transform a child’s life.
With hearts full of gratitude, her parents thank the Child Heart Foundation, Mankind Pharma, and the medical team for giving their daughter a second chance at life.
