Anjali’s baby girl was diagnosed with a Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) during the fetal stage. Despite the concerns, she was born through a normal vaginal delivery at Bhagwan Mahavir Hospital.
At just 26 days old, the baby developed severe respiratory distress, prompting immediate medical attention. Further investigations revealed a critical condition—Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA), a life-threatening heart defect requiring an urgent Arterial Switch Operation (ASO).
A Race Against Time
Recognizing the urgency and the need for specialized care, doctors referred the case to the Child Heart Foundation (CHF). The family soon reached CHF, where Dr. Vikas Kohli carefully evaluated the baby and confirmed the need for immediate surgical intervention.
For the family, this was an overwhelming moment. The baby’s father, Mr. Rohit, works as a peon and is the sole earning member. Coming from a lower middle-class background, arranging funds for such a complex surgery was beyond their capacity.
A Ray of Hope
Understanding the critical situation, the baby was enrolled under the Mankind Jeevansh Program, ensuring that financial constraints would not delay her treatment. With the support of Mankind Pharma and the Child Heart Foundation, the family found renewed hope.
On 27th January 2026, the baby was admitted to Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, Delhi, for the life-saving procedure.
The Life-Saving Surgery
With expert medical care and continuous support from CHF, the baby successfully underwent the Arterial Switch Operation (ASO).
The surgery marked a turning point—giving her a chance at a healthy and normal life.
A New Beginning
Today, the baby is on the path to recovery, bringing immense relief and joy to her family.
Overwhelmed with gratitude, Anjali’s family sincerely thanks Mankind Pharma and the Child Heart Foundation for standing by them during their most difficult time and for saving their daughter’s life.
