Nine-year-old Iqra Malik, daughter of rickshaw driver Mr. Mohd Parvez, was diagnosed with a serious congenital heart defect (CHD) that required specialized cardiac treatment.
Iqra had been suffering from persistent fever, constant fatigue, and a rapid heart rate. Her health challenges began affecting her everyday childhood, while her family became increasingly worried about how they would arrange the treatment she needed.
For a family with limited financial resources, the cost of advanced pediatric cardiac care was beyond their reach.
A Family Searching for Hope
Iqra’s family wanted to give their daughter the best possible treatment, but the financial burden of heart surgery made the situation extremely difficult.
Hope came when Iqra was referred through Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) to Child Heart Foundation (CHF).
The referral became an important turning point in Iqra’s journey.
Timely Support for Iqra’s Heart Surgery
After medical evaluation, Iqra received the support needed to move forward with her treatment.
With the timely assistance of Child Heart Foundation, she underwent successful open-heart surgery at Marengo Asia Hospital, Faridabad.
Following her surgery and recovery in the hospital, Iqra was discharged in a stable condition.
Today, she continues to regain her strength and remains under regular follow-up care.
A Brighter Future for a Little Heart Warrior
For Iqra and her family, successful heart surgery has brought renewed hope.
The little girl who once struggled with persistent fatigue and heart-related health challenges can now look forward to a healthier and brighter future.
Iqra’s journey demonstrates how timely diagnosis, appropriate referral, access to pediatric cardiac care, and financial support can make a life-changing difference for children living with congenital heart defects.
For Iqra, receiving the treatment she needed meant more than undergoing heart surgery.
It meant getting stronger every day.
It meant returning to the joys of childhood.
It meant giving her family hope again.
And it meant another chance to dream about her future.
Child Heart Foundation works to help underprivileged children with congenital heart defects access timely diagnosis, specialized pediatric cardiac care, and life-saving treatment.
