Pt. Shadik

A New Hope After ASD Device Closure.

Shadik’s Heart Treatment Journey: After Years of Waiting, His Heart Finally Received the Care It Needed

Shadik’s medical journey began early in life. He had a history of a neurological disorder since birth, requiring his family to remain attentive to his healthcare needs from a young age.

When Shadik was around one year old, his family took him to BHU, Varanasi, where doctors detected a heart murmur during his medical evaluation.

The finding raised concerns about a possible congenital heart condition. At the time, however, the family was advised that the condition might improve as he grew older.

With that hope, they waited.

The Heart Condition Remained Untreated

As the years passed, Shadik began experiencing sharp chest pain, raising fresh concerns about his health.

During a visit to Mumbai, he was evaluated at Sri Sathya Sai Hospital, where doctors performed an echocardiogram and advised the family to seek specialized cardiac care.

Despite receiving medical guidance, the family was unable to continue with the recommended treatment at that time.

Once again, Shadik’s heart condition remained untreated.

For his family, it became a long journey of knowing that their child needed cardiac care but being unable to complete the treatment he required.

A Timely Referral at Eight Years Old

When Shadik reached eight years of age, he was evaluated again in Jaunpur.

This time, doctors emphasized the importance of addressing his heart condition and recommended timely specialized treatment.

Through this referral, Shadik’s family connected with Child Heart Foundation (CHF).

After years of uncertainty and delayed treatment, the family finally had a pathway toward the cardiac intervention their child needed.

Successful ASD Device Closure

Further cardiac evaluation confirmed the need for treatment of an Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), a congenital heart defect involving an opening between the upper chambers of the heart.

On 31 July 2026, Shadik was admitted to Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi, where he successfully underwent an ASD Device Closure.

The procedure was completed successfully, and following appropriate medical evaluation and observation, Shadik was discharged in stable condition.

For his family, it was a major milestone after years of waiting.

CBRE Support Helps Make Treatment Possible

Shadik’s cardiac treatment was supported by CBRE, helping him access the specialized medical care he had needed for years.

With guidance and coordination from Child Heart Foundation, the family was able to move forward with his cardiac treatment and finally address the heart condition first identified when he was a young child.

For Shadik and his family, the successful procedure brought relief and renewed hope for the future.

A New Chapter After Years of Waiting

Shadik’s journey highlights the importance of continued follow-up when a heart murmur or suspected congenital heart defect is identified in childhood.

His heart condition was first suspected at around one year of age. Years later, after further evaluations and repeated recommendations for specialized care, he was finally able to receive the cardiac intervention he needed.

Today, Shadik is stable following his successful ASD Device Closure and has taken an important step toward a healthier future.

For Shadik, successful treatment meant much more than closing an ASD.

It meant finally treating a heart condition identified years earlier.
It meant ending a long period of uncertainty for his family.
It meant accessing specialized cardiac care with the support he needed.
And it meant giving an eight-year-old heart a healthier path forward.

Child Heart Foundation works to help underprivileged children with congenital heart defects access timely diagnosis, specialized pediatric cardiac care, life-saving treatment, and continued follow-up support.
