For six-year-old Ayansh from Delhi, frequent illness had become a part of childhood.

An echocardiogram revealed that Ayansh had a large Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD).
A VSD is an opening between the lower chambers of the heart. Depending on its size and effect on the heart and lungs, it may require specialized pediatric cardiac treatment.
For Ayansh’s family, the diagnosis finally provided an explanation for the health problems their child had been experiencing.
With guidance from Child Heart Foundation, his treatment journey was planned.
Recovering Before Heart Surgery
Before his cardiac treatment could move forward, Ayansh experienced another episode of pneumonia and required a brief hospital admission.
His immediate illness was treated first, and he gradually recovered.

Successful Open-Heart Surgery
On 12 August 2026, Ayansh successfully underwent open-heart surgery at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi, with support from Child Heart Foundation.
The successful intervention marked a major milestone in his journey—from repeated pneumonia and rapid breathing to finally receiving specialized treatment for his congenital heart defect.
For his parents, seeing their six-year-old child come through heart surgery brought immense relief.
